Headbanging in San Francisco

Hi guys!
It's been so quiet here these days. Looks like everyone is having a busy semester up to now, hum? Fortunately, I could take a little break last Sunday for a rock n' roll evening at The Warfield, a classic venue in a beautifull theater buid in the 20's, to see The Cult. Awesome show by true rock stars! Here are some pics. Enjoy it.

Summer in China

Hey Guys! Here is my regular vacation routine: San Francisco- Beijing- Lianyungang (my husband's hometown)- Guilin (my hometown)- Beijing- San Francisco. I spent the whole June with my parents and friends and enjoyed wonderful Chinese food. Everything was so familiar that I even forgot to shoot photos. However, I would like to show this picture to Marshall.
This is the typical scenery of Yangshuo (a county of Guilin), which is on the back of RMB 20 Yuan (about 3 dollars).

King's Canyon and Belize

Hello everyone!
After Marshall's post on non-posters I almost put up some pictures of Giannini, BART, hummingbird cafe, etc, to summarize my summer but then thought I should wait until I did something more blog-worthy. Finally got out of the bay area to go camping in King's Canyon a couple weeks ago and also just got back from a little vacation in Belize. My big summer trip is still upcoming though, as I'll be going to Paradise next weekend!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
Gina

In quest for the California Summer

Hey fellows!
Good to see your adventures during the summer and knowing that everybody is doing fine.
Tired of the cold Berkeley weather, I went to search for a taste of summer in southern California. And I found it! San Diego is an awesome city with great beachs (in spite of the freezing pacific water), parks and nightlife. Here are some of the pictures.
See you soon!

Tenochtitlan

Summer seemed too short but I am very much alive!
I went to Mexico and well to Arizona! Mexico City is a spectacular city, full of life, movement and things to do! Here are some pictures of it.
Hope summer is going well and hope to see you all soon!

Saludos!

Germany

Hi guys! Marshall called me out, so here goes: I spent most of my summer in Berkeley at the energy institute which Marshall pictured in a previous post. I was gone for the last month or so where I spent a week in DC, 2 weeks in Germany and another week in Chicago. Germany was awesome! I felt like it was my first real vacation in a long time. It was very relaxing, especially because Ben planned it all. We spent one week in Berlin, then we traveled to Hamburg, then spent a day on the Rhein River looking at castles, then to Frankfurt and back to Berlin. One of the big highlights was staying in a castle. As you can imagine, I am very tall compared to medieval Europeans, so I had to duck to get through doors etc. This is an awesome picture of the view from the garden outside of our room in the castle.

Sitka, Alaska

Hi all,
Other than hanging out in Giannini (and moving to a new apartment in North Berekley (-:), the most exciting part of my summer was coming up to Alaska this weekend for my uncle's wedding. His wife is Native American, and her friends performed traditional dances and songs at the reception. We were also in town for the first annual Seafood Festival fish head toss. It's like an egg toss, but with halibut heads. Some of my cousins did rather well.

Why is half our class scared to post on the blog? (and a few Uganda pics)

Hey dudes-

1. C'mon, why is half the class scared of the blog? For all we know, Gina, Erica, Qu, Jamal, Sikandra, and Lilia have dropped out of school. Post some pics so we can stop worrying!

2. The wife and I just had a nice 2-week vacay in Uganda. It's really awesome there. If you pay them a shit-ton of money, a man with a gun will take you to see the mountain gorillas. There are lions that climb trees, and volcanic lakes to swim in, and some Santa Cruz-inspired soda beverages for purchase.

Here are a couple pics:
